METHODOLOGY
We want our program at Toronto United FC to be recognized for our attractive, offensive football. The focus is to take the initiative of the game through the possession of the ball. We aim to reach it through a global, player-orientated, resilient and holistic methodology. We will develop creative and autonomous players and people.
At Toronto United, the players will grow to have fun while they are playing football. Practising and improving their abilities in a set of different drills, exercises and games that will be adapted to their stage of development.
Working in coordination with their teammates, we expect them to play without fear, to make their own decisions with an offensive mindset and style of play. All the time, showing the values that will represent the core of our community.
Our goal is to create a pathway for players to continue growing within the game of soccer after leaving the academy. We believe that the college/university route is a great way for our academy players not only to continue their soccer careers but to receive a valuable education at the same time.
We will provide the guidance and education the players need throughout the whole process to achieve this goal. This will include guidance with academics, help to create a highlight video, showcase opportunities and more.
